ShapeWrap III Visits China

Measurand recently spent 10 days in China working with its newest distributor, Longtek Company Ltd. LongTek excited the many customers visited on the trip, and the Measurand/Longtek booth was by far the busiest booth at the Multimedia Digital China 2007 tradeshow in Beijing. The Quest3D plug-in capabilities of ShapeWrap and ShapeHand also interested many Chinese customers. Longtek is now fully trained in ShapeWrap III and is ready to service Chinese customers for both ShapeWrap and ShapeHand applications.

Measurand Gives Quest 3D a Hand(06/11/07)

Measurand is pleased to announce that it has completed its plug-in for ShapeHand to allow it to work in the Quest3D VR Edition 3.5. The next plug-in to be created will be for Quest3D Creative Edition, followed by a plug-in for Measurand’s ShapeWrap Full Body Motion Capture system for both editions. Our Software Department can do anything!

We Have a Winner!(06/04/07)

Congratulations to Dariusz Burdon of London England! He has won a ShapeHand in our contest that ran in 3D World magazine. Mr. Burdon is a postgraduate student at Kingston University studying intelligent 3D character animation. You can see some of his work at www.pierzak.com. Mr. Burdon can use the Shapehand to capture hand motions to add to full body data, as well as pairing it with the optical motion capture system at Kingston University to capture hand data while simultaneously capturing full body motion.

Measurand Goes to School(05/02/07)

During a recent motion capture session Measurand invited a group of Film Arts students to take part by providing the lighting and cameras to film the session. As part of their program the students at CATAC must work with industry to gain experience in their field. These students set up the lighting and filmed the session. They will then edit the film to make a short collage of motion capture, animation, and live footage

Measurand Runs the Marathon(04/19/07)

Well…not everyone at Measurand. One of our Software Developers, Murray Lowery-Simpson, ran the Boston Marathon this week. He survived the most brutal weather conditions in the 111 year history of the marathon to finish 3600th out of about 20,000 runners. Congratulation Murray! You have inspired the rest of us to maybe some day in the near future possibly think about sort of putting down the burger and getting off the couch to maybe run farther than to the kitchen.

Measurand Expands Demonstration Capabilities In Asia (03/26/07)

Measurand Inc. is pleased to announce that one of its distributors in Taiwan, Mirax Technology Corp., now has a ShapeWrap II motion capture system available for demonstrations. For customers interested in using ShapeWrap II for animation and game development, Mirax will now be ready to demonstrate the capabilities of the ShapeWrap system.

Flat Earth Society (03/04/07)

Measurand recently delivered a ShapeAccelArray (SAA) that will be used in horizontal mode this spring to monitor earth settlement during settling-in of a bridge abutment. The SAA is a mate to a vertical one installed last fall at the same site, and which has been delivering data wirelessly since then. SAA's can be used vertically for a full 3D shape and vibration dataset, or horizontally for 2D shape and 3D vibration. Motion Capture and XSI (02/14/07) Carl Callewart, Animation Director for Measurand Inc., with the help of the XSI Team , will be giving demonstrations on the process of bringing motion capture data into a game environment. See Carl at the Softimage booth (#618) at the Game Developers Conference held in San Fransisco this coming March.

Dancing with Motion Capture (02/10/07)
